Courses

Basic First Aid Course
This first aid course includes single-rescuer adult CPR.  This course is equivalent to Emergency First Aid.

Basic Plus First Aid Course
This first aid course includes single-rescuer adult CPR, as well as skills needed to assess and treat a patient.  This course is equivalent to Standard First Aid.

Advanced First Aid Course
This 32-hour first aid course includes Level “C” CPR, as well as advanced airway management and oxygen therapy.  This is equivalent to an Emergency First Responder course.

Pediatric First Aid Course
This first aid course focuses on the pediatric (child) patient.  Instruction is also included for child and infant CPR.

Semi-Automatic External Defibrillation Course (certified)
This SAED course is 8 hours in length and includes Level “C” CPR.  This training will allow the student to use a semi-automatic defibrillator under the guidance of Life Support Services’ medical director.  This course follows a didactic (lecture) format as well as plenty of practice time for the student.

Prevention of Disease Transmission (Blood Bourne Pathogens)
This 1 to 2 hour course covers how disease is transmitted from one person to another, how disease enters the body, disease prevention, and the use of universal precautions and barrier devices.

Stand Alone CPR Courses (Level C)
Level “C” CPR is required in most medical, firefighting, and policing jobs.  This level is also usually required to successfully complete many post-secondary programs such as nursing and respiratory therapy, as well as early childhood education programs.  This course includes single- and two-rescuer adult CPR plus child and infant CPR.

Auto-Extrication for EMS personnel
This 8-hour course covers aspects of the science of auto extrication.  Experienced EMS personnel and fire fighters conduct this course which also includes the use of class A B C fire extinguishers and safety flares.  The student will have the opportunity for practical experience with hand tools as well as heavy hydraulics.

Emergency Oxygen Supplement
This 3 hour course includes integrating the use of emergency oxygen, oxygen delivery systems, oxygen equipment (disassembly and assembly), and use of oxygen for breathing and non-breathing patients.

Tactical Ballistic Awareness Program.
This course covers basic weapon safety, ballistic wounds, tactical medicine, weapon handling and firing.

TCCC – (Tactical Casualty Care Course)
This is the full 5 day certification course, a full Combat Medicine course.

M-TRT (Modified Tiered Response Training)

First responder training for the first responder fire fighter and the ERT responder in industry. This course covers patient assessment, airway management, ventilation support, use of self administered medication, and many other topics.
